The race is on! Residents of San Antonio and surrounding communities are invited to tackle the tower as Landry’s and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) Lone Star Chapter (LSC) partner to hold the 25th Annual Tower Climb and Run fundraising event, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This event raises dollars for research into finding a cure for cystic fibrosis an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States.
Participants are invited to run/walk a mile and then climb the 952 steps to the top of Tower of the Americas, arriving at the Tower’s observation deck. With two staircases, one for ‘competitors’ and one for ‘casual’ climbers, participants of all levels are welcome. Competitors will receive a chip for timing, and can take on the vertical challenge solo or in teams of four. This year’s event is being presented by Tesoro, and sponsored by H-E-B, The University Transplant Center, Silver Eagle, Frost Bank, and Soler Sports.
Check in is at 6:30 AM on Saturday, February 20. The cost is $50 per person, and registration and donations can be made on-line at www.lonestar.cff.org/towerclimb.
